Angie Lewis
Chief Deputy Tax Commissioner
Ms. Lewis began her career in the Tax Commissioner’s Office in 1978
and has worked in many capacities since that time.
She is a senior member of the management team and
shares her wealth of knowledge and experience as Chief Deputy.
In her tenure, Ms. Lewis has compiled an extraordinary record
of billing and collecting property taxes. The Chief Deputy coordinates
the Tax Commissioner’s role as it interacts with other
members of the tax team (Tax Assessors, Information Technology
and Finance), the fourteen municipalities, both school boards and
the State Department of Revenue during digest preparation. She
evaluates, recommends and oversees the implementation of all
new and recurring technical systems in the Tax Commissioner’s
Office. Her role is to interact with the Tax Administrators
to insure maximum performance and efficiency throughout the
department. The Chief Deputy Tax Commissioner plays a significant
role in determining personnel actions, advises the Tax Commissioner
and assumes the duties and responsibilities of Tax Commissioner
in his absence.
